KALYAN: A 33-year old man committed suicide after killing his 28-year-old girlfriend by strangulating her with nylon rope at posh Palava Township in Dombivli East on Tuesday.
The man Anil Shalunkhe was unhappy over his girlfriend Lalita Kale's decision of marrying another man.
The police said Anil was resident of Nashik while Lalita was working into private company and she was staying with her younger sister and mother at rented flat in Casa Rio Gold Apartment situated in Palava Township in Dombivli.
The police said both were in love affair for last five years but recently few months ago when Lalita learned that Anil is already married and avoiding to marry her due to which she decided to get married to someone else and recently even her engagement was done.
Police said after Anil learnt about Lalita's engagement on Monday evening, came to meet her saying he needs to take some money from her which he had given her on loan. After having dinner both were inside bedroom.
On Tuesday morning, Lalita's mother had gone to her job. Her younger sister Anita knocked the door after noticing that her sister did not opened door.
However when she did not find any response from inside the room, Anita informe her neighbours who alerted local Manpada police.
The police team upon breaking the door was shocked to find that Anil after strangulating had ended his life also by hanging self with same nylon rope.
