Maharashtra govt allots Rs 500 crore land for TTD temple in Mumbai

TIRUPATI: The Maharashtra government has allotted 10 acres of prime land, whose market value is estimated to be 500 crore, to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) for the construction of Lord Balaji mandir at Navi Mumbai.

Maharashtra tourism minister Aaditya Thackeray handed over the land documents to TTD chairman YV Subba Reddy at Tirumala on Saturday.

The plot allotted to the TTD is said to be the costliest land parcel ever donated to the TTD since its inception. Subba Reddy told reporters that the Raymond Group has expressed its willingness to bear the entire expenditure on the construction of the temple which is estimated to be around 60 crore.

Subba Reddy said the construction of Lord Venkateswara temple at Majin in Jammu will be completed soon and it will be ready for inauguration by the end of this year.
