PUNE: As a part of its ambitious Lakshyavedh scheme, the Maharashtra government has signed up with JC Ferrero Tennis Academy of Spain to develop the racquet game in the state.
Under the programme, JCFTA will work the Maha Tennis Foundation (MTF) and the sport's governing body in the state (MSLTA) to train the players as well as the coaches through the latest training methodology. "We would like to import the Spanish system, the Juan Carlos Ferrero philosophy, to India to develop the players. We want to bring the best things of the Indian system and the best of Spanish system together, I think it will work very good," said Francisco Martinez Lidon, the head coach of JCFTA, here on Thursday.
