MUMBAI: Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday slammed Chief Minister Eknath Shinde over him campaigning in Telangana for the BJP when Maharashtra farmers are facing a crisis due to unseasonal rain and drought in some areas. Uddhav said the CM must seek information about the situation in the state.
Uddhav said the CM is one who has left his own house and was cleaning other people's houses. Uddhav asked what language will CM Shinde speak in Telangana and asked if he was going to tell people about his escape to Surat and Guwahati?
Uddhav also slammed CM Shinde over his frequent visits to his farm near Satara. Uddhav said that the CM has a five-star farm where he reaches by helicopter but taunted that such five-star farming should come to the share of every farmer in the state. Uddhav demanded that an urgent meeting of the state cabinet must be called to discuss and provide relief to the rain affected farmers.
CM Shine was in Telangana on Tuesday campaigning for the BJP candidates in the ensuing state assembly elections. Uddhav also took a dig at PM Narendra Modi and the BJP top brass by saying that they were offering darshan of Ram Lalla for free, but when will they visit Maharashtra to check on the farmers who have been hit by unseasonal rain and hail. The Sena (UBT) also announced that a delegation of its senior leaders including opposition leader in the Legislative Council Ambadas Danve and MP Vinayak Raut will tour the rain affected farmers.
"Going to other states, you say that you will give darshan of Ram lalla for free. But when will you visit Maharashtra? What sin has Maharashtra done? When the elections come, the doors of the treasury will open. But are you going to take responsibility for the current situation or not? Our PM goes to cricket finals but not to Manipur. Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Ministers have time to wander around in other states. But when will they turn their hands on the backs of farmers in Maharashtra? 6 lives and more than 100 animals have been lost. The Chief Minister has left his own home and is in another state,” Uddhav said while addressing a press conference at Matoshree, his Bandra (East) residence.
"These dishonest people cannot do justice to the state, while the CM is in Telangana, we don’t know where the other two halves (DCMs Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar) are. The CM has a five-star farm where he reaches by helicopter. Such five-star farming should come to the share of every farmer in the state. If the CM is a farmer’s son then why does the farmer's son not worry about the farmers? Maharashtra has an unconstitutional government. But there is a question whether this is a government or not. Mumbai-Pune has experienced pollution like never before. I spoke to some experts about this, they said that pollution has increased due to unplanned development activities. So there was dust everywhere. After seeing the pollution, our unconstitutional government had announced to wash the streets of Mumbai and artificial rain. They have everything artificial. But it could not make artificial rain. Fortunately, it rained in Mumbai and the pollution should have reduced,” Uddhav said.
"Stop the fake promises in other states. There are no elections in Maharashtra today, but we are waiting. See how many engines you should install on your triple engine as soon as possible. Immediately start helping farmers by holding a cabinet meeting at the earliest. In the meantime, Shiv Sena protested against crop insurance companies. If this situation does not improve, I will go to relieve the drought victims,” Uddhav said.
