Nagpur: Police on Tuesday registered a case against four unidentified persons in connection with the attack on Ex-Maharashtra Home Minister and NCP (SP) leader Anil Deshmukh.
Deshmukh's car was attacked by some miscreants when he was returning from campaigning, leaving him seriously injured.

According to reports, the attack occurred around 8pm in Nagpur when his car was pelted with stones by unidentifies miscreatns. He was rushed to the hospital with head injuries.

Police on the attack
Superintendent of Police, Nagpur Rural, Harsh Poddar informed that "Nagpur Rural police have registered a case of attempt to murder against four unknown persons in the attack on Anil Deshmukh."
The Regional Forensic Team was also sent to the spot to collect technical evidence, the SP added.
He further said, "Total 2,000 police personnel and officers have also been deployed in the district, along with 300 CAPFs to maintain law and order.

NCP (SP) on the attack
State NCP (SP) spokesperson Pravin Kunte claimed conspiracy behind the attack and also accused BJP for this incident.
The incident reportedly happened when Deshmukh was returning to Katol after attending a public meeting in Narkhed village. Some miscreatns pelted stones at his car near Belphata on Jalalkheda Road near Katol in Nagpur district. (With Agency Inputs)
