- Jaguar unveiled the Type 01, the brand's first vehicle since its controversial rebrand two years ago.
- It's brutalist, boxy, and it's dividing the internet.
- Reactions online ranged from calling the $130,000 electric sedan "magnificent" to "hideous."
When Jaguar first launched the Type 00 Concept in December 2024, its brutalist styling and funky new badge had car enthusiasts foaming at the mouth. I'm not sure I've ever seen a concept car met with so much vitriol. Jaguar fans were livid that the brand was changing its iconic leaping cat logo for something far more minimalist and modern. They were also pretty pissed that Jag traded its typically gorgeous, sweeping, muscular designs—consider the legendary E-Type—for something so angular and square-jawed.
