Evi Mackie was in magnificent form at the Scottish National Age Group Championship (SNAGS) recently after claiming five medals, including gold in the 200m butterfly.
The 12-year-old was one of six Lanark Amateur Swimming Club stars in the 38-strong South Lanarkshire Swimming Team for the event at The Tollcross International Swimming Centre in Glasgow.
It was the first time that the Championships had been held since 2019 and Evi was in fine form during the five-day event.
Evi claimed gold won the 200m butterfly in a time of 2.40.05, shattering her previous best.
Silver medals were won in the 100m breaststroke and 200m IM, while bronze medals came in the 100m butterfly and 400m IM.
She also reached he finals of the 200m backstroke, 50m butterfly and 50m breaststroke.
Meanwhile,16-year-old Millie McArthur reached the final of both the 200m backstroke and 100m freestyle and became Lanark’s fastest ever female long course 50m freestyler, posting a time of 28.75 seconds.
McArthur was also part of four South Lanarkshire relays which secured three 5th-placed places and one 6th.
The club’s other finalist was 14-year-old Craig Shaw, who was sixth in the 200m breaststroke and seventh in the 100m breaststroke.
Lanark’s other three SNAGS representatives were all in butterfly events.
Abbie Barnstaple and Cameron Bruce both posted personal best times while Euan McLeod was just outside his best ever mark.
