Magic Johnson Apologizes to Nuggets After Lakers’ Game 3 Loss in Contrite Tweet

Former Lakers star Earvin “Magic” Johnson rarely holds back emotions while supporting his former team, and fortunately, he tends to share his basketball thoughts on Twitter.

After the Lakers went down 3–0 in the Western Conference finals series to the Nuggets on Saturday night, Johnson used his Twitter platform to apologize to the Nuggets team for talking trash before the series.

“I have to apologize to the Denver Nuggets, they proved that they are a better and more talented team in their victory over the Lakers tonight,” Johnson tweeted. “They put both teams in the Eastern Conference on notice that they are committed to winning a championship!”

The tweeting didn’t stop there. Johnson applauded the Nuggets’ two biggest stars, Nikola Jokić and Jamal Murray, for their performances in the series thus far.

“When you have two superstars like Jokic and Murray play at a high level at the same time like they are unstoppable,” Johnson tweeted. “If they continue that in the NBA Finals, the Nuggets will be world champions!”

Denver will look to clinch its first Western Conference championship Monday night in Game 4 against the Lakers in Los Angeles.
