Irish writer Maggie O’Farrell won the Women's Prize for Fiction 2020 and the National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction 2021 for her novel 'Hamnet'. And now, 'Hamnet' will be adapted for into a film by Oscar-winner Chloe Zhao.
'Hamnet' tells the story of Agnes, who was William Shakespeare's wife, as she mourns the untimely death of her son Hamnet. It is noted that Hamnet was just 11-year-old when he succumbed to the bubonic plague. The story also traces Agnes' and Shakespeare's relationship.
