MAFS UK bosses forced to put strict ban on cast after 'all out war' behind-the-scenes

Married At First Sight UK producers were forced to separate the cast members and ban them from visiting one another's apartments midway through the series, Adrian Sanderson has revealed.

MAFS UK star Adrian, who left the show before the final vows after his split from Thomas Hartley, gave the Mirror an exclusive insight to life inside the apartment block were the couples were staying during the experiment.

The 37-year-old explained that there was "so much trouble" amongst the group that producers had to step in halfway through filming the series.

Speaking exclusively to the Mirror , Adrian spilled: "I had someone ask me yesterday on Instagram, 'Were the arguments set up?'. No.

"The producers halfway through were like: 'You can't see each other anymore in the apartments, you have to stay separate, because there's so much trouble happening, but then we can't explain it on the show'.

"'So you're coming in and you're in the mood with that one, that one and that one but, no one on the show knows why - because all kicked off in the apartment.'"

Adrian then added: "Those apartments, oh geez honestly.

A divide between the group was very apparent at the final dinner party (E4)

"By the end of it, it was like walking through a horror house seeing who was was gonna jump out at me!

"You'd stand at the lift waiting for that lift to open and be like: 'Gosh, who's going to be in here, who is going to be in this lift when that door opens?' And sometimes it did happen and you just have to stand there really awkwardly," he laughed.

Adrian then added: "There was a very clear divide towards the end."

At the start of the final dinner party, MAFS UK expert Paul Brunson likened the atmosphere to a "war" as the group came together for the final time.

Speaking away from the gathering, Paul remarked how the two groups were sat separately to catch up on their week. He said: "I think we've almost seen battle lines drawn here."

As the mixer continued expert Charlene Douglas said: "You can really see the separation between the two camps."

Paul added: "This is a war right here. It's the preparation of a war. We know exactly where this is leading to, there is going to be a reckoning tonight."

Adrian also revealed the divide within the group was even more apparent during filming than it was on screen.

"That divide really stood out to us," he said. "I would say more than what is aired on the television, that divide was very clear.

"There was a point where I wouldn't really speak to that side – Sophie and Jonathan I would speak to a little bit, but, other than that, no."

Later, the dinner party ended with an argument as Adrian confronted Matt Murray after he claimed his and Thomas' romance was "fake" during the final commitment ceremony.

Adrian explained his row with Whitney and Matt was due to him feeling highly emotional – as it took place shortly after his split from Thomas.

He told the Mirror : "The thing is, we had an emotional dinner – we'd gone outside we had we had broken up.

"We'd ended that relationship, I was clearly in tears, it felt emotional at the time so the emotions were very high. And to have someone threatened something that I was so proud of and I was like, 'I'm really sorry but I'm not going to accept this. I keep my mouth shut constantly'... and there we go."
