MAFS UK's Thomas Hartley has threatened to report “threatening” followers to police just hours after saying he will “live to regret” “sickening” podcast comments about his co-stars.
Thomas, 31, made remarks - including a 'joke' about Jenna's late father - during an appearance on a recent episode of the Whats Happenin' podcast.
He has since apologised for any offence caused by the interview and said that he takes "full responsibility" for his behaviour. Thomas added that he regrets the situation.
The reality TV star has been slammed for his behaviour in recent days after the controversial comments.
Thomas, who was coupled up with Adrian Sanderson on the latest season of Married At First Sight UK appeared on the What’s Happenin’ podcast where he appeared to joke about Jenna’s dad, who died during Covid-19 pandemic meaning he couldn’t walk her down the aisle.
The telly star has since apologised after intense backlash from the comments and took to Instagram earlier today with a rambling update as he is clearly still struggling with the situation but appears to have taken steps to remedy his wrongs even requesting the removal of the original podcast.
In the hours that followed, Thomas has turned off fans’ access to message him on the social media app after the backlash got too intense.
Taking to his Story on Monday evening, he told followers that he had disabled the feature.
“My messages are turned off,” he began. “They won’t be getting turning back on.”
Still hopeful he might receive work, he went on: “You can message me on cameo, or business enquiries go through the business email.”
The E4 star then said he’d be reporting hate and threats to the police.
“If you are following or unfollowing, I don’t need an explanation, however if you want me to block you, just comment something abusive, however if it is inciting hate or threatening, it will be eported to the police,” he signed off.
Earlier on Monday he posted a rambling update to his Instagram, revealing he would regret the comments for the rest of his life.
He told followers: "Obviously it's been a few days now and I have had time to reflect and think and wallowing the sort of stuff that's been sent through and everyone's entitled to their opinion I fully accept that you.
"I haven't got a handbook on life, I have made a huge mistake and it's upset a lot of people and those that it's personally upset I've apologise to them directly. "And to those who have been affected by what I said and whatever it is that you are affected by I am sorry that was not my intention.
"It just went too far and it, I'm gonna live with this regret for the rest of my life."
He previously shared how he had been having some “very dark thoughts” after trolls called out his behaviour.
But in a sign that he is moving forward from his comments he told how he will not speak on the matter again.
