They might have ended their relationship over six months ago, but Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2026 groom Scott McCristal has proven he’s officially moved on from Gia Fleur by covering up their matching tattoo.
The self-proclaimed “power couple” decided early on in the experiment that they would commemorate their experience on the show’s 13th season by getting matching “13” tattoos on their ankles. Fellow bride Bec Zacharia commented at the time that they’d likely be getting the ink “lasered off in 12 months”, but it turns out Scott didn’t need that long to remove it.
The business owner posted a video on Thursday evening revealing that he had gotten a large eagle tattoo to cover up the “13” on his ankle.
“I’ll tell you what, sometimes we all make some mistakes,” he said in the video.
Scott added in the caption that he decided on the eagle because it represents “freedom, living life on my own terms and not being controlled”.

What about Gia’s tattoo?
It’s unknown whether Gia has also covered up her “13” tattoo; however, she’s made it clear that she’s also moved on after getting a matching tattoo with her new partner Alan Wallace.
The mother-of-one revealed on Instagram earlier this month that she had gotten his name tattooed on her left hand, and he got “Gia” tattooed on his left wrist.
“Three months in secret, and forever in public to go,” Gia captioned the post.

Gia told PEDESTRIAN.TV that she and Alan decided to get matching tattoos two months into their relationship as a sign of their commitment to one another. She explained that neither of them watched this year’s season of MAFS, but Alan had “heard a few things” and started asking questions about her relationship with Scott.
“He was being a little bit insecure about Scott and stuff, and I said, ‘Look, what do you need me to do to make you feel like I’m with you and you don’t need to worry?’,” she recalled.
“I was like, ‘I’d get your name tattooed tomorrow’, and he was like, ‘No, you wouldn’t’. I was like, ‘I would, I would do it tomorrow’, and he was like, ‘Bullsh*t, if you do it, I’d do it’. So literally the next day I went and got it done, sent him a photo and then he got it done.”
Gia said it was important for her to reassure Alan that their relationship was “real”, especially because MAFS can sometimes feel like “someone is there for clout”.
“Obviously, it’s a bit early to get engaged, but for me, obviously, I don’t mind getting a matching tattoo,” she remarked.

Scott reveals new romance
Similar to Gia, Scott also revealed after the explosive Reunion episodes that he’s in a new relationship — although they’re yet to get matching tattoos.
“There is someone in the picture, but I can’t really confirm anything because it’s early days,” he told Daily Mail.
Hopefully, Gia and Scott have both learned from their mistakes and their new relationships last longer than their TV marriage. If not, there’s always Perfect Match.
