MAFS's April 'returns to her home' after dumping George amid abuse claims from his exes

Married At First Sight UK star April Banbury has reportedly returned to her London flat after dumping her husband George Roberts.

The father-of-four, 40, wed former Miss Great Britain after meeting her for the first time at the altar as part of the popular E4 show.

However, things weren't smooth sailing for the duo and viewers have watched their relationship go south in recent episodes.

It comes amid allegations George was able to wed a stranger on the show despite three of his exes reportedly making complaints of his alleged emotional abuse to the police.

April has moved back into her £750,000 home without George, according to MailOnline.

April was reportedly unable to talk about the allegations made against her TV husband when asked.

Mirror have contacted April's representatives for comment.

Although the show is about getting married to strangers, the ceremonies in the series are not actually legally binding.

Couples get to choose whether they choose to 'leave' or 'stay' with their partners after getting to know each other during their honeymoon.

They are also given tasks to help them communicate with each other better.

It comes after George was allegedly accused of 'emotional abuse' by three of his ex-girlfriends who have claimed they made police complaints about him after learning George was set to appear on the show.

George's three ex-girlfriends allegedly made independent complaints to police about his alleged 'obsessive', 'manipulative' and 'abusive' behaviour, according to The Sun.

The three women were allegedly left 'horrified' after seeing George in trailers for the current series of the E4 match-making show.

After raising their concerns with the police, the three women claim that their worries were ignored by officials and Channel 4.

They each allegedly told police that the financial advisor 'love-bombed' them by showering them with affection and gifts before they claim his behaviour turned 'coercive and controlling'.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for George said: “George categorically denies these allegations.

"As a father of daughters he finds these accusations deeply upsetting and does not condone abuse nor behaves in that way.

“These allegations were never brought to his attention, investigated or taken further by the police for good reason as they are simply not true.”

Channel 4, which runs E4, claimed rigorous checks were made on the contestants and 'any allegations of this nature are taken extremely seriously'.
