From wreaking havoc at the Dinner Parties to calling out participants at the Commitment Ceremonies, Gia Fleur is undeniably serving main character energy on this year’s season of Married At First Sight (MAFS).
The 35-year-old disability support worker is arguably the perfect type of person to appear on the reality show — someone who is just as dedicated to their relationship as they are to stirring the pot — and viewers have had plenty to say about her on-screen behaviour so far.
One person who isn’t watching the season unfold, however, is Gia. The mum-of-one told PEDESTRIAN.TV that she watched the first few episodes of MAFS before deciding to switch off — so no, she didn’t relive the trauma of last week’s explosive Dinner Party.
“It’s a hard watch. I haven’t really been watching it,” she confessed. “I watched the first two episodes, and then I just couldn’t watch it anymore. I have to rely on clips and friends to tell me what’s happening, because it’s just too hard to watch. I think I’m tapped out.”

Gia says she’s changed since MAFS
While Gia acknowledged that MAFS was filmed a while ago and she’s changed since then, she admitted that the show has made her reflect on her behaviour and her priorities.
“Watching it is just too triggering, because I don’t really associate myself with the behaviour that was shown at the Dinner Party. I’m not like that in life, but that’s how it looks, and I get how it looks like that,” she shared.
“I just want to take a step back and focus on things that I can control and the real people in my life that matter to me.”
One person she’s particularly focused on is her eight-year-old daughter, who she is trying to keep away from MAFS as it has started to impact her life.
“She’s hearing about it at school and everything, so at the moment, she’s just been pulled out of school so I can just be there for her and be a mother, because that’s my number one priority,” she revealed. “Obviously, how I acted, I never want that to happen to her.”
Gia has promised that things will get better for her on the show and her relationship with Scott McCristal will only grow stronger; however, the fact that she isn’t watching the show seems like a pretty telling sign that things don’t work out for the couple.
Think about it: if you fell madly in love with your partner on reality TV, wouldn’t you want to relive the fairytale and watch every episode? Well, maybe that’s just me.
