Controversial Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2026 bride Gia Fleur has admitted regret over a now-deleted TikTok where she claims her on-screen hubby, Scott McCristal, is illiterate.
Every year, there’s at least one MAFS participant who goes rogue on social media. Last year, it was Jacqui Burfoot who immediately spoiled her storyline, revealing that she and Ryan Donnelly were donezo only weeks into the new season.
This year, it was none other than headline-breaking Gia Fleur who shared a bunch of BTS scenes via diary cams and TikToks. However, in one of these posts, which has since been deleted, Gia decided to come for her husband, claiming he couldn’t read, write, or spell.
“Can I just say, the radio thing is so cute and sweet of you, Scott, but elephant in the room. The bigger problem here we should address is that you don’t know how to spell, read or write. It’s ‘anonomous’, and an epiphany is a moment that comes to you in your brain like a lightbulb moment,” Gia said in the now-deleted TikTok.
“So how about we do radio interviews about that?”
Gia Fleur addresses scathing TikTok mocking Scott McCristal’s literacy skills
In an extended cut of Gia’s interview on Stan’s MAFS: After The Dinner Party, hosts Laura Bryne, Brittany Hockley and Jules Lund asked the bride what the purpose was of these scathing TikToks.
In response, she claimed that he made them for “clicks” and “rage bait” since everyone had made fun of her behaviour on the show.
“I feel like I’m ragebaiting, I guess, and just being funny on there just to get clicks,” Gia shared.
“It’s not anything deep. Whatever, I’ll make fun of myself.”

Brittany then honed in on the fact that Gia called Scott “dumb” and “illiterate” in the now-deleted TikTok, which they played on-screen. In response, Gia said she “regrets” ever hitting publish on the scathing video.
“Being self-depricating is one thing, like I’ll root for that, but I think it’s when you’re attacking somebody else that you just went through this experiment with,” Hockley said before Gia cut her off, saying she “regrets that video”.
“I am sorry to Scott,” Gia said.
“I think that was just a low blow. Again, I’m still hurting, and I’m not really watching it, but I’m seeing clips here and there, and it hurts.”

Laura then grilled the bride, calling her content “a cheap engagement” and warned her that it “won’t last and won’t get [her] anywhere in the future”. YEOUCHHHH.
“The only way to make a change is to make a change, and you need to be showing up differently,” Brittany added, sending Gia into tears.
“I won’t say anything bad about him moving forward,” Gia said.
“I’m not gonna do any of those TikToks or any of that, and how can I change and then show this other side of myself? It doesn’t make any sense.”
While Gia has publicly said sorry via Stan’s MAFS: After The Dinner Party, Scott claimed to PEDESTRIAN.TV that she has “not really said sorry at all”.
Maybe they’ll make up on Instagram Live after the Reunion, but something tells me it’s O-V-A-H.
