In unfortunate news for another Married At First Sight (MAFS) fan-favourite, Beth Kelly, it appears that her ‘husband’ Teejay Halkias has pulled a Dave Hand and switched up on her during Homestays Week. Aiyiyi. We cannot go one week without a groom acting up, amirite?

Ever since entering the experiment as our intruder couple, Beth and Teejay have seemingly flown under the drama reader. After all, it appeared that the couple were strong and were developing some pretty strong feelings for each other.
In times of doubt, where Beth would express her concern with Teejay, it appeared that her ‘husband’ was supportive. Heck, he was always reassuring her that he was attracted to her and was willing to give their marriage a red hot shot.
Until now.
During Homestays Week, it appears that something has triggered Teejay to completely flip the switch on his relationship with Beth.
To give you a quick recap, Beth was super keen to bring Teejay home as it would be the first time she’s ever introduced a man to her family.
However, the excitement came crashing down when Beth’s friend Darcey pointed out that the groom consistently used the word “friendship” when referring to their relationship, which he called out in front of Teejay’s face and Beth’s family.
“Friendship. Using the word friendship quite a lot,” Darcey clocked.
“Like, I would say relationship, not friendship.”

In a voxie, Darcey expressed that Teejay’s presence at the table — despite being quite pleasant — felt really “rehearsed” and “very scripted”.
“It’s hard to say whether or not he’s just saying the right things,” Darcey shared.
When Teejay was pressed about growing their “friendship” into a romantic one, Beth piped up saying she was ready to commit, whereas her ‘husband’ didn’t respond.
“Can I ask, if it all ended tomorrow, is my daughter’s heart going to get broken?” Beth’s dad asked Teejay
“Um, we don’t know what’s on the horizon. I care so much for Beth, um so,” Teejay shared before Darcey chimed in with, “I care about my dog.”
OOFT.
Shortly after a dramatic commercial break, Teejay told Beth’s friends and family that he believed he’d been “transparent” throughout the whole experiment, but it’s “hard to say” where, when and if their relationship would blossom into something more.
Teejay spiel’s prompted Darcey to pull Beth for a chat, where he then expressed his concern about Teejay’s intentions beyond MAFS.
“I’m not gonna lie, listening to his responses it just feels very rehearsed,” Darcey dished.

Beth then shared that she was worried that was the case with Teejay and that this realisation is starting “to sink in now”.
Things between Beth and Teejay worsened when they met up with the groom’s mate. During this rendezvous, the groom admitted that he’s still questioning if he sees Beth in a romantic light, which completely crushed her.
“I think what we’re trying to work out at the moment is that if our connection going to flourish to a relationship. There’s obviously something that’s lacking between us for me to say yes, I wanna have a relationship with this person,” Teejay revealed.
The admission caused Beth to tense up, and in a voxie, the bride admitted that it was “hard to hear” Teejay’s confession to his mates.
“I’m in a that I dreaded the most. That I have feelings for my partner and that he possibly doesn’t have them for me,” Beth shared.
When Beth excused herself from the table, Teejay’s mates asked him what she would have to do to convince him that their relationship could be more than just mates, to which he replied that there’s “no list” she could follow.
“I can’t see how it could snap in two weeks and change completely,” Teejay shared before dropping this major bombshell.
“And the parents wanted to ask, ‘if the experiment ends tomorrow will my daughter have her heart broken’… If you were to tell me if I had to decide yes or no tomorrow, it would have to be a no because I’m not completely comfortable in here.”
BYEEEE.
After the luncheon, Beth confronted Teejay about the revelation. However, he insists that he was “transparent” throughout their time in the experiment.
But Beth admitted that she’s “confused” by his recent actions because the groom claimed that he needed to make an emotional connection to be intimate. However, they were intimate before Homestays Week and now he’s yearning for a more emotional connection despite being intimate. So basically, the math isn’t mathing!!
“We both said ‘stay’. You’ve been saying this whole time that you needed a connection to sleep with me, and then you sleep with me, I’m gonna think ‘Great, he feels more connected to me’ and then we get to Homestays and this is where we’re at? Of course, I’m feeling confused and hurt,” Beth shared.
Teejay then concluded the conversation by confessing that he doesn’t see that connection.
“If I had known that he didn’t see a future with me I would never have brought him to my home,” Beth admitted.
“It’s like he’s flipped a switch and game over. It’s just a shit feeling.”
In a voxie, Beth began to cry, expressing that the whole Homestays situation had completely blindsided her.
AHHHHHHH. My poor Beth! It truly is a Dave situation. You see, Dave Hand was the latest groom to be in the firing line of many MAFS fans and the cast after he did a complete switch-up on Jamie Marinos. This is literally the same thing!!!
But hey, most fans reckon that they saw Teejay’s switch up a mile away. You see, most fans reckon the groom was on the show for exposure because he was previously on Big Brother Australia.

Ugh, man, this season is just full of PLAYAZ. Look, I really wanted to give Teejay the benefit of the doubt because he and Beth seemed to kick things off, but it looks like his reality TV experience has come into play.
