Married At First Sight besties-turned-enemies Domenica Calarco and Ella Ding have officially buried the hatchet and reunited for the first time in almost two years after their messy friendship breakup.
To bring you up to speed, the duo grew close on the ninth season of MAFS in 2022 and launched the highly successful podcast Sit With Us shortly after the reality show finished airing. The podcast quickly climbed the charts, and the pair made the most of their newfound fame with joint brand deals, a sunglasses and vibrator collab, and a digital recap series for Channel 9. However, a controversial and widely criticised podcast interview with MAFS groom Jack Dunkley in mid-2024 sent everything crashing down.
Dom and Ella wiped their podcast’s social media accounts and unfollowed each other by August 2024, and their friendship break-up turned nasty over the next few months with shady TikToks and passive-aggressive jabs online.
Now, after almost two years of no contact, the former besties surprised fans by reuniting in Melbourne over the weekend. Dom posted a gallery of snaps on Instagram from her road trip to Victoria, which included a photo of her 10-month-old daughter Dove with Ella’s seven-month-old daughter Pia.
“Our little girls,” Ella replied in the comments, with fans replying that they were “so happy” for the pair.
Ella and Dom spill on their reunion
Speaking to PEDESTRIAN.TV following their reunion, the pair admitted that they’re thrilled to be in each other’s lives again.
“To be honest, the media played a pretty big role in what happened with our friendship the first time around, and I really don’t want to see that happen again,” Ella told us.
“It’s been so lovely seeing all the love from our shared audience, and we’re genuinely grateful for the support. We’ve reconnected, we’re friends again, and it’s been a really nice chapter for both of us. But I’m also trying to protect that this time.”
Dom added that there’s “so much” she wants to say about their tumultuous friendship and how they reconnected, but essentially, becoming mothers changed them both.
“So much happened, the media landscape played a lot into what happened, and we let it break down what we had,” she echoed.
“We don’t want that to ever happen again, so just taking it step by step with how we navigate all of this, but what I will say is that it’s amazing to be in each other’s lives again.”
The pair’s reunion proves that truly anything can happen, so I’ll just be sitting here patiently waiting for 2026 MAFS brides Gia Fleur and Bec Zacharia to patch things up.
