Married At First Sight (MAFS) intruder Chris Robinson has updated us on his surrogacy journey, after his desire to have children became a focal point on Tuesday night’s episode.
Chris joined the experiment alongside new groom Sam Stanton and a bunch of other intruders in the episode, but before they could even get the ball rolling, Chris had a secret: he was about to become a father of two.
Much of the episode revolved around Chris withholding that information from his new husband out of fear it would be a dealbreaker, but he has since revealed the status of his fatherhood journey in the time since his wedding episode was filmed.
“I’ve had my daughter and she’s really happy and healthy, so that’s really good,” Chris told PEDESTRIAN.TV.
While it’s welcome news for those already invested in Chris’ MAFS storyline, he went on to share a sad update on the second surrogate he mentioned in the episode.
“Unfortunately whilst I was filming, there was a bit of an issue around my surrogate journey,” Chris revealed. “[We] had a couple of embryos and the surrogate unfortunately lost one of them, so it was a bit of a sad moment.”
Chris said the heartbreaking update was compounded by the intensity of the show.
“The experiment is so tough in itself. You’re dealing with so much and there’s a lot of emotions, so obviously that was pretty hard to process especially in the environment as well,” he said.
“So it’s been tough, but I’ve pushed through it.”
Thankfully, Chris hasn’t abandoned his plans to have more children, saying he’s “in the process of trying again for the second child”.
Fans have to wait and see how Sam reacts to Chris’ surrogacy plans as the rest of the season plays out, but we do know that viewers only saw a brief part of their wedding in Tuesday’s episode.
“There were a couple of things that didn’t make it to the show. Sam’s groomsman actually lit the table on fire,” Chris told PEDESTRIAN.TV.
“We definitely thought that would have made it to the episode, but they left that part out. That was pretty iconic.”
