Rocco Ritchie looked stressed as he visited his mum Madonna’s apartment after the iconic singer was hospitalised.
The Material Girl hitmaker, 64, was rushed to hospital after contracting a severe bacterial infection, and wound up in intensive care.
Madonna is still in a hospital in New York City undergoing treatment following her terrifying health scare, and her eldest son Rocco - who she shares with director ex-husband Guy Ritchie - was seen visibly worried as he visited his mum’s apartment.
The 22-year-old was seen out and about with his 17-year-old brother David Banda, who Madonna adopted in 2006, and the pair arrived at the gated apartment in the city’s Upper East Side on Wednesday.
It marks the first time any of the singer’s six children have been seen since her longtime manager Guy Oseary revealed the Hung Up hitmaker had been fighting for her life in hospital.
According to reports, Madonna’s eldest child, daughter Lourdes Leon, has been holding a vigil at her mother’s bedside.
The award-winning musician’s health woes were made public in a statement from her manager on Wednesday, as he announced her Celebration Tour, set to kick off later this year, would be postponed.
“On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several-day stay in the ICU. At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour,” Guy shared on social media.
“We will share more details with you as soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows,” he added.
It was believed the singer’s condition was so bad her relatives didn’t believe she would survive, and was reportedly found unresponsive after enduring exhausting 12-hour rehearsals for her tour.
“For the past couple of days, no one really knew which direction this was going to turn, and her family was preparing for the worst,” an insider told MailOnline.
“Everyone believed that we may lose her and that has been the reality of the situation.”
Madonna has only recently celebrated with her 10-year-old twin daughters Estere and Stella, who had just graduated from elementary school.
“2 Kweens!!!! Happy Graduation!” she wrote on Instagram last week.
The girls are the youngest of Madonna's children, and she adopted them from Malawi in 2017.
