Madonna is 'strong enough' to deal with hate after savage backlash for topless snaps

Madonna is strong enough to continue to brush off outbursts from haters, according to pal Rosie O'Donnell.

The singer was lambasted with hateful comments after she shared yet another racy throwback snap with her bare chest on show.

But despite the hurtful words, pal Rosie says the queen of pop will continue to take the dissing in her stride.

The latest trolling followed further abuse focusing on Madge's appearance, but Rosie said the songstress has the perfect mentality when it comes to negativity.

"You know, Madonna is one of the most famous women in the world and has been my entire lifetime,” Rosie said. "And she would get vitriol at her at the height of her fame."

She continued in her chat with Page Six: "I remember we were doing A League of Their Own and she had brown hair and we would be in an elevator and grown men, you know, would say to her, 'I like you better as a blond'.

"And she would look at them and go, 'You know, f*** you.' And I thought, good for her, man, good for you."

She admitted the singer has never had a problem standing up for herself, echoing the thoughts of Debi Mazar who gushed she thought Madonna is "beautiful".

A prime example of Madge clapping back was after the Like A Prayer singer received a barrage of criticism in February when she presented a Grammy Award.

The 64-year-old's appearance was heavily critiqued online, with many berating her "bloated" face.

However, she was quick to fire back in defence. Taking to social media soon after, she wrote: "Once again I am caught in the glare of ageism and misogyny that permeates the world we live in. A world that refuses to celebrate women pass [sic] the age of 45 And feels the need to punish her If she continues to be strong-willed, hard-working, and adventurous."

She continued: "I have been degraded by the media since the beginning of my career but I understand that this is all a test and I am happy to do the trailblazing so that all the women behind me can have an easier time in the years to come."
