Madonna has shocked fans as she uploaded a bizarre Instagram clip licking water out of a dog bowl, while suggestively posing on all fours.
The 64-year-old singer was branded "embarrassing" by followers after she shared the blurry clip before uploaded racy snaps in a supermarket with hot sauce.
Her actions are perhaps a playful response to the song that soundtracked her slide show, the 1969 proto-punk classic I Wanna Be Your Dog by The Stooges.
But the post raised eyebrows from many of her fans with the clip sparking a social media frenzy over the Material Girl's intentions.
One user wrote: ''#Madonna shared another embarrassing & disturbing video on # Instagram where she licked water out of a dog bowl."
Another complained: ''On a scale of 1–10, with 10 being #Kanye, I'm pretty sure this has gotta be like an 8.''
Others were angered by the artists seeming resistance to acting her age.
'Grow up already!!!' seethed one user. ''Your to old to be licking a dog bowl..your not the material girl no more your like the stupid nut job girl [sic].''

And while her antics provoked strong reaction from the public, a up close look at the footage suggests that the pop icon didn't actually lick the bowl, as she appears to stick her tongue out and merely get close to it.
It comes after a video of the hitmaker posing on a motorbike inside a dimly lit garage wearing leg-lengthening shorts with trademark fishnet tights and over-the knee suede black boots as she put on an animated display.
The clip, comes after rapper 50 Cent reignited a feud with her after he called her a 'grandma' while mocking a video of her angrily lip syncing to a song by Baby Keem.
50 — real name Curtis James Jackson III — reposted an image of an article discussing Madonna's video and wrote: ''I told y’all grandma was on bulls**! like a virgin at 64. LOL,'' before hashtagging his own alcohol brands.
The latest drama builds on the Like A Prayer hitmaker's release of a video last week where she rmouth lyrics including: 'Have you ever been punched in your motherf**king face? What you say, oh you haven't? Alright, wait!'
Her outfit also left little to the imagination as she put on a busty display in a a sheer black top worn beneath a lace corset.
