Madhya Pradesh: Khandwa advocate gets death threats from Pakistan

INDORE: Khandwa Kotwali police on Saturday night registered a case against unidentified persons for issuing death threats to an advocate affiliated with a right-wing organization.

"On the complaint of 25-year-old advocate Aseem Jaiswal, a case was registered against unidentified persons," said SP Vivek Singh.

"Aseem said that he received a Whatsapp call from a Pakistani number. When he did not receive call, the accused texted a threat saying that if he did not stop what he was doing, he would be killed. The accused also received abusive text messages. A group of people reached CSP office and registered a complaint with CSP Poonamchandra Yadav following which a case under Section 294 (imprisonment to one who sings, recites or utters any obscene song or words), and Section 507 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC," he added.

"The complainant said that this was in relation to some posts he shared on Facebook and Instagram in the past month," said the SP.

He added that the number has been given to the telephone agency for identification.
