NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed chargesheet against 17 individuals affiliated with Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HuT), a radical group with the goal of establishing a Sharia-based Islamic nation in India through violent means. An official statement released on Sunday announced the filing of a charge-sheet against these individuals.
The charge-sheet has been submitted in a special court, invoking various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The case in question was registered in Madhya Pradesh on May 9, as confirmed by the NIA spokesperson.
