INDORE: Agar Malwa district election office registered 18,444 first-time voters in electoral roll that may play decisive role in two constituencies of the district.
Of those, 9824 first-time voters are registered in electoral roll in Agar constituency and 8620 in Susner, showed records. The first-time voters aged 18 to 19 are registered under the revision of electoral roll carried out before final publication on October 4 to include those eligible voters.
The first-time voters may prove a game changer for candidates in Agar constituency, where winning margin remained at around 2,400 and 2,000 in 2018 assembly election and 2020 bypoll respectively.
On the Susner seat, candidates won the seat by a margin of over 27,000 in 2018 and in 2013, the difference was only 11,000 among winning and losing candidates. In case the election remains tough and close these voters may prove decisive.
The authorities included 14,202 new voters in final electoral roll taking overall voter numbers to 4,68,584, showed records.
Of the total new voters, 8718 were women and 5481 men voters registered in the district in final electoral roll. The age-wise bifurcation of voters population in the district showed that maximum 1.24 lakh voters are in the age group of 30-39 and 1.21 lakh in 20-29.
