Madeleine McCann's sister speaks publicly on her disappearance for the first time at vigil

The sister of Madeleine McCann has spoken for the first time about her disappearance at a remembrance vigil.

Amelie, now 18, lit a candle for her sister tonight as she joined her parents and well wishers at the vigil that marks the 16th year anniversary of the British toddler's disappearance.

A short prayer service was held in the McCann's home village of Rothley, Leicestershire. According to the Mirror, Amelie said after the service: "It's nice that everyone is here together but it's a sad occasion."
