Made in Chelsea's original cast now - drug shame, royalty and miscarriage agony

Believe it or not, Made in Chelsea will soon be heading for its 23rd series.

It's hard to fathom that we've been invested in the lives of the explosive socialites for almost 11 years now.

Series one of the E4 show saw tears and tantrums in Belgravia, Knightsbridge and on the King's Road as the rich kids became famous, too.

So much has changed since the cameras started rolling in the well-to-do west London hot-spots. The original stars of any long-running programme always have a place in our hearts.

Made in Chelsea is no different so we've rolled back the years to remember the main cast members who made us fall in love with the show as we check out what they're up to now.

Spencer Matthews

The show's original bad boy, womaniser Spencer spent most of the first year cheating on various girlfriends such as Caggie Dunlop and Louise Thompson.

He left in 2015 all set for I’m a Celebrity, which also ended in tears when he was forced to leave.

The star revealed he kept his steroid addiction a secret from producers until reaching a desperate breaking point as he reached out for help.

Since then, life has got better. Spencer has become a father to two children with wife and model Vogue Williams. He also has a low alcohol drinks company, Clean Co, which sells premium, low spirits

But he still rolls with the best of them.

He has royal friends now as his brother James Matthews is married to Pippa Middleton, the sister of the Duchess of Cambridge.

Alexandra 'Binky' Felstead

Binky has been really busy since leaving the show (INSTAGRAM)

There weren't many reality fans who didn't love Binky.

She had the first MIC baby with co-start Josh ‘JP’ Patterson in 2017 with India now being co-parented.

Now 31, the mum announced she had welcomed her first child with fiancé Max Darnton last year. They named their son Wolfie.

Binky remained a main part in the series until series 13, when she decided to step back from being a regular.

Back in series one, she was Ollie’s confidant before he ended his relationship with Gabriella, and she even gatecrashed a ski trip with friend Cheska.

Ollie Locke

The long-server is still on the show to this day, but the last few months have not been easy.

Ollie and husband Gareth announced last month that the surrogate carrying their twins suffered a devastating miscarriage.

Ollie, 34, and Gareth, have been long-trying to have a child and received the exciting news in November last year that she’d fallen pregnant.

But he said: "We're hoping that next year will be the year we get the baby we want and deserve and need."

His wedding to Gareth was the finale of MIC series 20, a romantic ceremony held in the Natural History Museum, which included a cameo from former cast member Binky.

Ollie has had a few breaks from the series over the years but has always come back and remains a firm favourite with fans. He finished in third place on Celebrity Big Brother in 2014 and is co-founder of UK-based gay dating app Chappy.

Millie Mackintosh and Hugo Taylor

Millie and Hugo had a very happy ending but it was certainly a bumpy ride.

What happened in series one really put her off after she discovered her boyfriend Hugo had cheated on her with best friend Rosie. Ouch.

After leaving the show in 2012, the beauty launched her own clothing brand and also has her own jewellery, eyelashes, book and workout videos.

The Quality Street heiress married rapper Professor Green in 2013 but they filed for divorce just two-and-a-half years later.

Millie then rekindled her romance with Hugo and the pair got hitched in 2018. Then in May 2020, Millie gave birth to their daughter Sienna. Then in December last year, they welcomed baby girl Aurelia.

Catherine Dunlop

Caggie was one of the show's early shining stars (Rex)

One of the main stars of the early years, Caggie was a girl in demand!

She was chased by childhood sweetheart Spencer despite him dating Funda at the time and eventually they got together - before she got fed up of being messed around.

She left in series three to pursue her singing career, which didn't take off.

Caggie went on to host a podcast called Saturn Returns, which is described as aiming to bring clarity and calm to times of transition, underpinned by the astrological transit known as your Saturn Return.

She used to date Katie Price's ex Scott Sullivan, who also went out with Jodie Marsh and Bianca Gascoigne, with sources claiming at the time that she had been 'embarrassed' over Scott's 'colourful' dating history.

Funda Onal

After saying goodbye to the show at the end of the first series, Funda became a film star (PA)

Funda gripped us all from an early stage - she was involved in the very first Made in Chelsea love triangle.

The dancer was dating Spencer, but he also had the hots for Caggie, and drama was not in short supply.

Who doesn't love a juicy twist? Funda would later marry Caggie’s ex Scott Sullivan in 2017.

Funda and Scott started dating a year after he was seeing her rival and the couple welcomed a baby girl in 2018.

Scott was famously dating Katie Price when she fell in love with Peter Andre in the I’m A Celebrity jungle and also had relationships with Jodie Marsh and Bianca Gascoigne.

After leaving the show at the end of the first series, Funda became a film star and has also appeared in music videos for Calvin Harris and Tinie Tempah.

Louise Thompson

Long term cast member Louise Thompson made a brief appearance in series one, before becoming a cast regular in series two.

Louise left MIC in 2019 after eight years and a string of unlucky love affairs including with Spencer Matthews, before finding Ryan Libbey.

These days Louise is known for her fitness brand Live Like Louise, which she regularly posts about on her Instagram, whilst sharing workout posts with her partner Ryan.

But last year she revealed she suffered a devastating miscarriage and bravely spoke about the tragic loss before welcoming son Leo late last year.

She wrote: "There is no easy way to say it, nor any way to sugar coat it, but earlier this year we lost our baby and it was HARD and...

"In all honesty, I had no idea that it was possible to love someone that I'd never met quite SO MUCH. From the moment I saw the lines on the pregnancy test I started to build an emotional connection and my whole world changed, and for that to be taken away was devastating."

Francesca Hull

Fun-loving Francesca was a real favourite (Rex)

Cheska opted for the quiet like after her time on the programme came to an end after it all became too much.

After leaving the show in 2014, she relocated to Devon where she co-owns a boutique with her mum.

She also gave birth to son Charlie in 2018.

Cheska recently revealed she was "much happier" since leaving the bustling city and her TV career after it caused her depression and anxiety.

She also told Grazia in 2018 that her loved ones begged her to leave the show as it was affecting her so badly.

She said: "I was so low, I felt I couldn't film, but I'd signed a contract. There were days I couldn't get out of bed. I would dread the thought of walking down the street."

Fredrik Ferrier

Fredrik says he doesn't see himself as a reality star (Youtube)

Long haired Fredrik first appeared in seasons 1-4 and after a break returned from series 12 onwards.

But he has many strings to his bow.

He last year signed to Spinnin' Records, an imprint of Warner music.

"I've signed a deal with Spinnin' Records, which is the biggest dance label in the world," he told Grazia.

'I've got several releases with them this year. It's fantastic because you're a part of this huge organisation, one of the major labels, and it's amazing to be on this ladder."

But he added he doesn't see himself as a reality star.

Mark-Francis Vandelli

Mark-Francis has ski-high ambition - but had to withdraw from The Jump in 2016 (PA)

Mark-Francis probably wins any sass competition in any MIC series.

The posh Chelsea resident with an Italian descent is a firm favourite - and his quick put downs and sparkling one-liners only make viewers like him more.

He says it as it is - but usually managed to find a way to avoid the relationship drama.

Away from the show, he competed in the third series of The Jump in 2016 but was forced to pull out due to an agonising injury on the slopes.

In 2017 he hosted his own MIC spin-off called Mark-Francis' Big Night Out and he also appeared on Come Dine With Me last year.
