Made in Chelsea's Joshua Patterson runs through Cardiff for 54th marathon in 54 days

Made In Chelsea star Joshua Patterson will be running through Cardiff today as he attempts his 54th marathon in as many days. The reality TV favourite - best known as 'JP' on the long-running show - is currently on a mission to complete a gruelling 76 marathons in total, which would outstrip the current world record of 62.

Even more impressive is the fact that he's running to raise a whopping £1 million for Samaritans. And the 33-year-old - who's so far taken in North Wales and much of the west Wales coast - has already raised more than £95,000 for the suicide prevention charity on his Go Fund Me Page.

The dad-of-one, who shares daughter India with ex girlfriend Binky Felstead, is currently travelling across the country UK in a camper van, which acts as his base when he's not pounding the pavement. The celebrity-turned-mental health campaigner started off his record-breaking attempt in Scotland back in February.

He has also spoken about his own struggles with depression and how it led to him becoming an endurance athlete. "For most of my life I have struggled with my mental health,' he recently told The Daily Mail.

"I have had bad bouts of depression and have been at the point of contemplating suicide. I live with pretty bad anxiety every day and when I was younger there was a real lack of understanding of what it was and the support in place for it."

Joshua added that by running a total of 1,991.2 miles over an estimated 465 hours he would help raise awareness for the good cause. "Samaritans is so important - their trained specialists, who answer phone calls from people in mentally vulnerable situations, are life savers.

"They listen, giving guidance and letting people know they're never alone," he added. "And Samaritans have a base in every single city that I'm running through.

"I want to show that mental health can affect anyone anyone, anywhere, at any time. Let’s rewrite the narrative around mental health, and together we can save lives."
