Serial restaurateur Samyukta Nair is set to launch a new “in conversation with” style series of events, hosting and highlighting a range of leading female voices at her Mayfair restaurant Bombay Bustle.
Founder of LSL Capital, a still-burgeoning restaurant empire, Nair is set to launch the events program named “Made by Women”. It will run from September to October, with four influential guest speakers including Olia Hercules and Skye McAlpine.
The series is set to kick off in September with guests including food writer and columnist Skye McAlpine and broadcaster and author of three cookbooks, Rosie Birkett.
The talks aim to celebrate the journeys of these successful women, with a specially selected feasting menu created by Bombay Bustle chef Surender Mohan following each event.
On the creation of the new series, Samyukta noted, “I am so looking forward to launching Made By Women and delving into all things from fashion to food while in conversation with an extraordinary line-up of dreamers and doers.”
The inspiration for the series follows from the success of the previous “Jamavar’s Women’s Club”, noted as being an antithesis to the traditional ‘boys clubs’ of Mayfair and St James. The events feel particularly timely as gender parity is once again under the spotlight at London restaurants.
The series of talks is set to conclude in October with Olia Hercules, the Ukrainian activist who shot to international recognition as the co-founder of #cookforukraine, a global fundraising initiative which has raised over £2.4 million since its inception.
Samyukta Nair has become one of the most influential voices in London restaurants in recent years having opened Jamavar, Bombay Bustle, MiMi Mei Fair, KOYN and most recently, Socca Bistro in partnership with the Michelin-starred chef Claude Bosi.
