Carolina Panthers wideout DJ Moore hasn’t gotten the shine he deserves over his four-year career. And, unfortunately, that lack of recognition spans from the real world to the virtual one.
On Monday, EA Sports revealed its opening batch of player ratings for Madden NFL 23, which is set to release on Aug. 19. First up were the pass catchers, and Moore—who, of course, led all Carolina receivers and tight ends—fell just short of the 90 club.
Here’s the ratings rundown:
- WR DJ Moore: 88
- WR Robbie Anderson: 82
- WR Rashard Higgins: 73
- WR Andre Roberts: 72
- TE Ian Thomas: 71
- WR Terrace Marshall Jr.: 71
- TE Tommy Tremble: 71
- WR Shi Smith: 69
- WR Keith Kirkwood: 66
- WR Brandon Zylstra: 65
(Maybe Zylstra’s rating would be higher if he was registered as a kicker.)
Anyway, an 88 overall is probably a tad disappointing considering the work Moore has done in the NFL.
He is the NFL’s only receiver to record at least 1,200 yards from scrimmage in each of the last three seasons. Plus, he’s only one of just seven players in league history to have that many campaigns before the age of 26.
You try doing that with an injured Cam Newton, Kyle Allen, Teddy Bridgewater, PJ Walker and Sam Darnold, EA Sports Madden ratings givers!
