Madame Tussauds London has opened a brand-new experience that will allow guests to go beyond the gates of Buckingham Palace and get a peek into Royal life in this Coronation year.
A patriotic pack of corgis were cordially invited to enjoy a VIP tour, where they roamed the hallways of The Palace and saw a re-dressed figure of King Charles III.
The monarch has been given an update to honour the opening of the new experience. The Madame Tussauds London team has paid homage to the outfit His Majesty wore for the first-ever State Banquet of his reign, in November 2022. The attraction’s wardrobe team spent 140 hours finessing King Charles III’s new look, working with medal specialists and collectors to ensure no detail was forgotten, from his nine miniature medals and diamond Lesser George medal to the insignia of the Order of the Garter.
Queen Elizabeth II has been reunited with the late Duke of Edinburgh in the new experience. Their figures are joined by other historic members of the Royal Family, including Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth I.
In addition to rubbing shoulders with The King and Queen Consort and the Prince and Princess of Wales in the Throne Room, visitors to The Royal Palace will get to pose with afternoon tea in the Royal Drawing Room or mingle with some of the Palace’s most notable celebrity guests, including Sir Mo Farah and Dame Judi Dench.
Tim Waters, General Manager at Madame Tussauds London, said: “If you want to get close to the Royals and get a true sense of what it feels like to be part of the British monarchy, then this is a totally unparalleled experience. We all know the place corgis have in the heart of The Royal Family, so it seemed only fitting that we invited these cheeky, charming canines for what was a ‘pawsome occasion’.
