Mackay Base Hospital's former director of obstetrics and gynaecology George Campbell Du Toit has been banned from practising surgery.
Queensland's Health Ombudsman has also ordered that Dr Du Toit should not be involved in providing care to women during labour and immediately after they have given birth.
Under the conditions, Dr Du Toit must "not be the most senior person rostered on any shift when practising as a registered health practitioner".
Dr Du Toit resigned from the Mackay hospital in March amid an external investigation into complaints from women who claimed to have had complications after caesarean births and gynaecological surgery.
He was suspended by the Mackay Hospital and Health Service in October last year, pending the outcome of the independent review into concerns regarding adverse maternity and gynaecological outcomes at the hospital.
The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists suspended the hospital's authorisation to train registrars in the specialty before the announcement of the review.
The review, which began on November 1, is investigating Mackay Base Hospital maternity and gynaecological outcomes between July 1, 2019 and October 31, 2021.
It is examining the safety and quality of the services provided, including complication rates.
Last month, Mackay Hospital and Health Service chief executive Lisa Davies Jones said she expected to receive the final report from the review team in August.
Ms Davies Jones said once the report was received, the health service would develop an action plan in response to any recommendations.
