You may have heard that Rory McIlroy posted an eye-catching 60 during the pre-tournament Pro-Am ahead of the BMW PGA Championship.

“I wish it was on a Thursday and not on a Wednesday,” he said with a wry smile as he began the main event over the West Course yesterday with a three-under 69 which left him three behind early leaders, Aaron Rai and Joakim Lagergren.
