Manufacturing specialist MattressTek has signed a new deal to grow its business in North America - and has expanded its Lancashire home as its growth continues.
MattressTek makes equipment used in the mattress-making industry. It has now signed a deal with US distribution agent - AtoZ Automation, a division of AtoZ Packaging Enterprises, “to advance and maintain” its position in the US.
The directors of Georgia-based AtoZ say they are “extremely excited” about the partnership and will now join MattressTek directors Shaun Peel and Michael Birtwistle at global trade fair Interzum in Cologne, Germany, in May.
MattressTek says the mattress making industry is growing worldwide and that 70% of its business now comes from overseas markets.
The company’s success means it has now expanded into a unit next door to its existing premises at Forest Mill in Rossendale - with its overall footprint rising from 16,000 sq ft to almost 22,000 sq ft.
MattressTek is one of the three finalists in the Global Britain category of the MEN Business Awards, alongside GreatDrams Ventures and THG. The award celebrates businesses that are trading with the world in a successful, innovative way, showing how firms large or small can play their part in Britain's export success.
The winner will be announced at the MEN Business Awards on Thursday, May 11, at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel.
MattressTek also recently achieved the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Bronze Award after signing, pledging and committing to the Armed Forces Covenant to show its support for serving and veteran members of the forces.
