This smelled like another bad ending for the New England Patriots on Sunday at Gillette Stadium.
They had seen the Buffalo Bills score 15 points in 3:39 to take the lead in the AFC East clash.
Mac Jones could drive the team for a field goal to force overtime, or he could shut up the critics and lead a TD drive.
That is what Jones did, finding Mike Gesicki with a 1-yard TD pass with 12 seconds left. The PAT made it 29-25 and the Patriots had their second victory of the season.
The winning drive took 1:46 and covered 75 yards over 8 plays.

It was Jones’ second TD pass of the fourth quarter that saw the teams score a combined 28 points.
The day began with all sorts of questions about Bill Belichick and the Patriots.
It ended with people having to wonder if the Bills are a deep playoff contender. They are 4-3 and barely beat the Giants at home and lost to New England in Week 7.
