Tailbacks of up to three miles built up on the M62 near Morley overnight due to a police-led incident.
The motorway was closed in both directions around junction 28 during the early hours. Traffic was trapped within the closure for a brief period at around 2.30am.
West Yorkshire Police traffic officers attended the scene. Traffic was released and delays were cleared on the motorway by 3am.

A tweet by National Highways Yorkshire at 2.27am said: "The #M62 is currently blocked in both directions within J28 near #Morley due to an @WYP_RPU led incident. #TrafficOfficers are on scene to assist. Please allow extra time for your journey as delays are building on the approach."
A second tweet 10 minutes later declared that all lanes had reopened. It said: "The @WYP_RPU led incident has now been resolved on the #M62 in both directions within J28 near #Morley. #TrafficOfficers have released the traffic and residual delays have now cleared...."
