Eight people have been taken to hospital after a crash on the M62.
Emergency services rushed to the scene between junction 8 and junction 7, at around 4.10am, on Monday, August 8. At the scene police, paramedics and fire fighters found two vehicles had been involved in a crash.
It's reported that one of the vehicles left the road during the crash. A North West Ambulance service spokesperson said that one person suffered "major trauma" while the others were classed as "walking wounded."

Police officers confirmed that there were four people in each of the vehicles. They said the person who suffered major trauma is believed to have "sustained a serious injury to his leg."
A stretch of the motorway westbound from J8 A5281 Burtonwood Road (Warrington West / Burtonwood) to J7 A57 Warrington Road (Rainhill Stoops) was closed while treatment and recovery work took place. After the vehicles were removed from the road, two lanes were kept closed for a number of hours while an oil spill from the crash was cleared.
A spokesperson for Cheshire police said: "At around 4.10am on Monday 8 August emergency services were called to reports of a collision on the M62 westbound between junctions 8 and 7. Highways officers and Cheshire Fire attended the scene and found there had been a two vehicle collision.
"There were four people in each of the vehicles who were treated by paramedics. One person was believed to have sustained a serious injury to his leg and was taken to hospital."
