M6, M53, M56, M57 and M62 motorway closures beginning September 19

Parts of the M6, M53, M56, M57, and M62 are set to close over the coming week.

All the motorways in Merseyside will see closures this week (Monday, September 19 - Sunday, September 25) as National Highways continue to repair the regions roads. This week there will be weekend closures overnight on the M6, M62 and the M57 which are expected to cause delays for motorists.

However, there will be no closures in place on Monday, September 19 due to the bank holiday for Queen Elizabeth II's funeral.

Here are all the motorway closures you can expect this week.

Monday, September 19

No closures expected

Tuesday, September 20

The M6 northbound between junctions 22 (Winwick) and 23 (Haydock) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M6 southbound between 21A (Croft) and 26 (Orrell) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M53 southbound between junctions one (Bidston) and three (Heswall) will be closed between 8pm and 5am.

The M56 westbound between junctions 14 (Elton) and 15 (Stoak) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M57 northbound between junctions one (Tarbock) and two (Forest House) will be closed between 8.30pm and 6am.

The M57 southbound between junctions one (Tarbock) and two (Forest House) will be closed between 8.30pm and 6am.

The M62 westbound between junctions six (Tarbock) and seven (Rainhill Stoops) will be closed between 8.30pm and 6am.

Wednesday, September 21

The M6 northbound between junctions 22 (Winwick) and 23 (Haydock) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M6 southbound between 21A (Croft) and 26 (Orrell) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M56 westbound between junctions 14 (Elton) and 15 (Stoak) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M57 northbound between junctions one (Tarbock) and two (Forest House) will be closed between 8.30pm and 6am.

The M57 southbound between junctions one (Tarbock) and two (Forest House) will be closed between 8.30pm and 6am.

The M62 westbound between junctions six (Tarbock) and seven (Rainhill Stoops) will be closed between 8.30pm and 6am.

Thursday, September 22

The M6 northbound between junctions 22 (Winwick) and 23 (Haydock) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M6 southbound between 21A (Croft) and 26 (Orrell) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M56 westbound between junctions 14 (Elton) and 15 (Stoak) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M57 northbound between junctions one (Tarbock) and two (Forest House) will be closed between 8.30pm and 6am.

Friday, September 23

The M6 northbound between junctions 22 (Winwick) and 23 (Haydock) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M6 southbound between 23 (Haydock) and 26 (Orrell) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M56 westbound between junctions 11 (Preston Brook) and 15 (Stoak) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M57 northbound between junctions one (Tarbock) and two (Forest House) will be closed between 8.30pm and 6am.

The M62 westbound between junctions six (Tarbock) and seven (Rainhill Stoops) will be closed between 8.30pm and 6am.

Saturday, September 24

The M57 northbound between junctions one (Tarbock) and three (Huyton Spur) will be closed between 8.30pm and 6am.

The M62 westbound between junctions six (Tarbock) and seven (Rainhill Stoops) will be closed between 8.30pm and 6am.

Sunday, September 25

The M6 southbound between 21A (Croft) and 26 (Orrell) will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

The M57 northbound between junctions one (Tarbock) and three (Huyton Spur) will be closed between 8.30pm and 6am.

The M62 westbound between junctions six (Tarbock) and seven (Rainhill Stoops) will be closed between 8.30pm and 6am.
