The M53, M56, M57 and M62 will all partially close this week as drivers are warned to expect "delays".
Sections of the motorways will be partially closed this week for essential roadworks and National Highways has warned drivers to expect "severe disruption". This week (August 22 - 28) will see no closures on Friday, or over the weekend.
National Highways announced the M57 between junctions one (Tarbock Interchange) and three (Randles Farm) would be closing overnight for around five months after it tried to carry out repairs on potholes for two years. Despite attempts to repair the road, the carriageway continues to deteriorate with potholes and other issues forming regularly.
