Traffic chaos hit one of Ireland's busiest roads on Monday after a late-night collision.
A heavy goods vehicle was involved in the crash on Dublin's M50 near the Red Cow at around 9.30pm.
Emergency services including gardai and Dublin Fire Brigade rushed to the scene of the truck crash at Junction 9.
Gardai issued an alert at 10.20pm that the southbound lane of the motorway by Junction 9 had been closed.
Motorists were warned that delays should be expected, with traffic also impacted on the northbound lane near the crash site.
A garda spokesperson said on Twitter: "Dublin Traffic: Junction 9 on the M50 Southbound is currently closed due to a collision. Traffic is also disrupted on the Northbound route at Junction 9. Diversions are currently in place. Expect delays."
Dublin Fire Brigade said on Tuesday night: "We're currently attending a HGV road traffic collision on @M50Dublin J9 Red Cow Southbound. Expect delays on approach."
In an update at 11.30pm, the fire service said their work at the scene was completed but diversions remained in place.
They said: "We've now finished on scene at this collision however diversions remain in place as recovery gets under way."
It is not known as yet whether anyone was seriously injured in the crash or when the diversions might be lifted.
