M5 traffic expected to 'double' over Easter bank holiday weekend

Traffic on the M5 between Bristol and Bridgwater is expected to be 'double' the normal levels this weekend as drivers' set off to enjoy their Easter bank holiday. Motorists are being warned to expect severe delays on the roads with up to 17 million leisure trips predicted to be made.

According to the RAC and transport analytics company, Inrix, major roads across the South West are likely to experience the worst congestion on Good Friday.

The M5 southbound between Bristol and Bridgwater is set to see more than double the normal traffic levels. The same is also predicted for the A303 westbound near Stonehenge in Wiltshire as well as the M25 anticlockwise between Hertfordshire and Surrey.
