There are several overnight road closures that might affect motorists driving across the South West tonight (December 7) and early tomorrow morning, according to National Highways.
There are closures on the M5 which might affect drivers heading north out of Bristol, and another on the M4 which may cause changes to your journey if heading eastwards near Swindon.
For motorists travelling north out of Bristol tonight, there is a planned closure from 10.00pm to 6.00am tomorrow on the M5 northbound between junction 17 (Cribbs Causeway) to junction 15 (Almondsbury Interchange).

This is due to work being completed on the central reservation. The following diversion is in place: Merlin Road & Hayes Way to A38, South to A4174, East to M32 Jct 1, North to M4, West to M5.
For those travelling between Bristol and Wiltshire along the M4, there is a planned closure tonight from 8.00pm to 6.00am on the M4 eastbound from junction 16 (Spittleborough Interchange) to junction 15 (Plough Hill Interchange) just south of Swindon.
The carriageway is closed for repairs, but a diversion is in place: A3102, B4006, B4289, B4143, A4312, A419, re-join M4 at Jct 15
There are additional closures planned for two A roads in the South West too:
For those in Wiltshire, there is a planned closure tonight from 9.00pm tonight until 5.00am tomorrow on the A36 southbound, from south Crockerton to Cotley Hill. This is due to horticultural works, but the following diversion is in place: A350 and A303 to Deptford.
Finally, for drivers in South Somerset, there is a planned closure also from 9.00pm tonight until 5.00am tomorrow on the A303 eastbound, from east Ilchester to Podimore. According to National Highways, this is also due to horticultural works. The same diiversion via A350 and A303 to Deptford has been provided.
