Police blocked a stretch of the M5 after they were called due to concern for a pedestrian's welfare near Bristol this afternoon (March 18). The route was blocked at junction 21 in both directions for approximately one hour as officers dealt with the incident.
The closure was first put in place at 1.15pm and remained in place until roughly 2.20 pm. But the road was eventually reopened after the pedestrian was confirmed to be safe.
