M1 lanes closed after vehicle overturns between J20 and J21

Motorists travelling north towards Nottinghamshire have been warned of delays on the M1 after a collision. Motorists were briefly halted on the northbound carriageway between junction 20 for Lutterworth and junction 21 for Leicester on Wednesday (September 28) morning.

Two lanes are still closed after a vehicle overturned. In an update issued at 7.20am, National Highways said: "Traffic has been released. 2 lanes remain closed past the scene. Expect delays, please allow extra time for your journey."

In an earlier statement, Leicestershire Police said: "There is an overturned vehicle on approach to J21 of the M1 Northbound. This is likely to cause some traffic delays this morning so please avoid the area if possible and allow extra time for your journeys. Many thanks."
