M&S shoppers say £10 perfume is 'fantastic dupe' of £157 luxury fragrance

Marks and Spencer shoppers have praised a £10 perfume that smells like a designer brand costing nearly £200.

The value scent is part of the retailer's Apothecary range that focuses on products with earthy hues - and its Warmth Eau De Parfum has notes of cardamom, cinnamon, cedarwood and sandalwood.

Warmth Eau De Parfum has received a rating of four out of five stars on Marks and Spencer's website and many users have compared it to Le Labo's Santal 33 Eau de Parfum. The luxury perfumery boasts unique scents that are oil-based, rather than made with alcohol.

But they don't come cheap, one 50ml bottle of Le Labo's Santal 33 Eau de Parfum costs a staggering £157 at John Lewis. According to Le Labo's website, the perfume "combines a mix of cardamom and notes of iris and violet", making its profile near identical to the M&S version.

Meanwhile, 50mls of Warmth Eau De Parfum costs £10 on M&S website. As reported by the Liverpool Echo, Marks and Spencer said of its perfume:: "Bring a sense of well-being and comfort to your day with this Eau de parfum from Apothecary’s wellbeing fragrance collection."

Of the perfume's many glowing reviews, NessaMilly said: "Lovely fragrance, very similar to Santal 33 by Le Labo, at a fraction of the price."

A second, Carrieb5 said: "I'm lucky enough to have had Santal 33 from Le Labo and this is a fantastic dupe. It’s much lighter and yes you might need to spray a little bit more often but for the price, it’s a winner. Even when I can’t smell this I’ve been complimented, just brilliant."

It's worth keeping this perfume in your bag for top-ups throughout the day, as some reviewers commented on the longevity of the scent. Nawny said: "Great dupe, and very similar to the iconic fragrance saving hundreds of pounds - what's not to love?

"Not long-lasting, but at the price it is, it's not a problem."

Another said: "Lovely warm spicy scent but needs 'topping up' at least twice a day." And Dorsetdarling said: "I LOVE this scent. I am not sure that it is actually an Eau de parfum, as unfortunately, the scent does not last for very long.

"However it is reasonably priced so that is OK."
