Lyon team bus vandalised on pre-Rangers Glasgow journey as 'boat captain intervenes'

Lyon's team bus has been vandalised ahead of the Europa League tie against Rangers.

The branded vehicle was shipped over to the UK ahead of Thursday night's fixture but was damaged in transit.

Journalist Florent Caffery has reported that "several hundred Parisians" were also on board the ship heading to England.

And it's claimed the bus was targeted by rival supporters with video footage on social media showing graffiti and stickers on the side of the vehicle.

The words 'Paris'  and 'PSG' can clearly be seen with PSG-style stickers also visible.

It's claimed the boat's captain had to intervene to prevent further damage to the bus while on board the ship.

Lyon's official team bus is thought to have been on a ship to England before heading for Scotland ahead of the players arriving in Glasgow later this week.

La Voix du Nord journalist Caffery posted on X: "Olympique Lyonnais bus damaged while heading to Glasgow.

"Several hundred Parisians were on the boat heading to England at the same time.

"The boat's captain had to intervene to prevent further damage."

Lyon face Rangers at Ibrox on Thursday night in the second matchday of the Europa League. The French club won their first match against Olympiacos 2-0 last week.

Rangers also have three points in the competition from their first match, after a 2-0 win over Malmo in Sweden.
