Lynsey Bennett reveals gruelling cancer treatment schedule as she arrives in Germany

Lynsey Bennett has shared a glimpse of her new cancer treatment schedule after arriving in Germany.

The mother-of-two travelled for over 50 hours to get to the facility where she hopes to undergo treatment for the next month.

As she cannot travel by plane due to blood clot risks, the Longford native instead travelled by ferry and train to eventually reach her destination on Saturday.

Sharing an update with her 58,000 Instagram followers, Lynsey said she had finally arrived in Germany and had already been given an overview of her treatment agenda.

The gruelling schedule for Monday begins at 7.20am and doesn't end until after 3pm.

Posting a picture of the list of appointments, she wrote: "Happy Valentine's Day to me on Monday. Plan for the day."

Lynsey was previously told by doctors last year that she had just six to eight months to live but she has since left medics amazed by her progress.

She revealed last week that her tumours have recently grown and that she has "lots of bad days" while living with cervical cancer.

However, she is hopeful the treatment in Germany, which is similar to that which she underwent in Mexico, will have a positive impact on her health.

On her current health situation, she told Ireland AM: "Technically my cancer is now acting in the way it should have when I got my prognosis back last year.

"Amazingly I've had a year where I've got that cancer to hold still, which should have been impossible."

She described the treatment in Mexico as "life-changing" and she felt like she got some of her "power" back.

"I got to spend over a year now making memories and being able to get up in the morning and get things done that I never thought was going to be possible," Lynsey said.

"I saw the reports of how I should be in a wheelchair and eventually be bed-bound and minded and to still be here over a year on and to be good is mindblowing, I can't believe it."
