Cancer campaigner Lynsey Bennett has said that she has been "brought back down to reality" as she shared her latest update on receiving treatment.
The CervicalCheck campaigner from Longford told her social media followers that a bowel tumour "isn’t playing ball and in a matter of weeks has grown again.”
She is hopeful of attending a specialist cancer clinic in Germany in the near future - stressing in the post how important it was.
She wrote: "To add to mix I have had a bled this evening too. Germany has never been so vital… I want to try more things to live."
Lynsey recently got her PICC (peripherally inserted central catheter) line taken out, allowing her to do things like stand under her shower head - with Lynsey noting she wanted to try an ice bath.
She continued: "Have two fabulous friends visiting tomorrow before I leave and bridesmaid shopping Saturday and even debating going to see some disco lights Saturday eve but not drink alcohol, and hopefully see another friend Sunday as my girls are with their dads this weekend
"Germany fingers crossed is coming soon, but happening a week later than what I hoped but I’ll grab with both hands. I have one more meeting Monday for it then hopefully I can get booking boat."
Last year, Lynsey settled her High Court action over the alleged misinterpretation of her cervical smear slides.
Lynsey,, from Ennybegs, Killoe, Co Longford, had sued the HSE, Dublin testing laboratory Eurofins Biomnis Ireland Ltd and US lab Quest Diagnostics Inc, after she contracted aggressive cervical cancer despite having four smear tests between 2010 and 2016.
She settled her High Court action for an undisclosed sum.
