Scotland striker Lyndon Dykes is still in hospital but responding well to treatment for pneumonia according to QPR boss Neil Critchley.
However, with just seven weeks to go until the Euro 2024 qualifiers kick off with a double header at Hampden against Cyprus and Spain the frontman’s health will be a serious concern to Scotland boss Steve Clarke. Dykes was sick during QPR’s clash against Swansea City on January 21 and, despite returning to training, was taken to hospital last Friday and has been there ever since.
The 27-year-old has struck six goals for the Londoners this season and remains a key man for club and country. Loftus Road boss Neil Critchley said: “Lyndon is still in hospital and will hopefully be discharged soon. I went to see him on Wednesday and he is feeling better. I had a good conversation with him.
“It has been a worrying time for him but he is responding to the medication and we have been in regular contact with him. Myself, the staff, all the players and I am sure the QPR supporters send all our love and best wishes.”
