Lyndon Dykes back in QPR training as Scotland star taking it 'step by step' after pneumonia battle

Striker Lyndon Dykes has returned to training with Queens Park Rangers after being hospitalised last month.

The Scotland frontman, who has scored six goals in 29 appearances for the English Championship club, was released from hospital two weeks ago after his pneumonia battle. Dykes is expected to be out for the foreseeable future as he looks to get back to full fitness. Scotland's Euro 2024 qualifiers against Cyprus and Spain at Hampden Park next month may come too early for the former Livingston star, however the QPR boss Neil Critchley said Dykes is already making good progress.

Critchley said ahead of the clash with Middlesborough: "He returned to Heston yesterday and it gave everyone a real lift. Dykesy is a great guy, you heard him straight away! He's desperate to get back and is already pushing himself. At the moment, he's just doing low-level physical stuff. We'll take it step-by-step with him."

Since signing for the London club from Livingston in 2020 Dykes has scored 27 goal in 109 appearances. He has also been pivotal for Clarke, scoring eight goals in 26 caps for the national team.
