Lyndon Arthur takes on Walter Gabriel Sequeira at the University of Bolton Stadium on Saturday night in the hopes that he will be able to bounce back from last year's split decision rematch defeat to Anthony Yarde, having beaten his fellow Brit a year earlier for the Commonwealth Light-Heavyweight belt.
Arthur, 31, fights the 35-year-old Argentine nearly a year after suffering the first defeat of his career in an event which takes place at the home of Bolton Wanderers FC in Greater Manchester. The card will be broadcast live on Channel Five, with the action getting underway from 9:30pm.
The fight takes place on the Wasserman promotions card and will be the first time that Arthur has been the main event in such a venue, a challenge he is excited for. He told the Manchester Evening News : " Of course I'm buzzing for it. Not only do I get to perform in front of my own people, but we're live on Channel 5 from 9:30pm and the whole nation gets see that 'King' Arthur is back.

"I'm ready, I've constantly been working so nothing has changed. I've got the confidence and skill to go all the way, but we've been refining the skillset and sharpening the mindset. You'll be witnessing a vicious animal with laser focus."
His opponent has a long and storied career, mostly having played out in his native Argentina, but a fight against Yarde in 2018 will make him a recognisable name to UK boxing fans. He lost on that occasion by TKO, but with a strong reputation for knockouts Arthur is expecting a tough fight.
He said: "I'm expecting a game opponent. What I see from his record is a man with 25 wins and 17 of those are by knockout. I'm expecting the best version of him, and it'll be going in there as a professional and finding my own ways of shutting him down."
Arthur has always been touted as a world class fighter, with Manchester boxing icon Ricky Hatton saying as much in the build-up to this fight. Hatton explained: “Lyndon is world class and just needs to go into this fight remembering that. Yes he suffered a loss against a good opponent, that’s boxing, but now he can move on and start challenging for those big names and titles.
The pursuit of a world title is something which Arthur is thinking about himself, revealing that it is an aspiration of his to achieve before his retirement, saying: "My aspirations are clear, i want to be a world champion. Whether that leads me to pursue a British title route or go for other international honours along the way then who knows. The path can take all forms, but the end goal stays the same."
SATURDAY'S CARD IS LIVE ON CHANNEL 5 FROM 9:30PM
